Pisces is on display this month and the veil thins between the solidity and fluidity.  Many planets will find themselves (from the perspective of us Earthlings) in the sign/archetype of Pisces.  If there is anything to know about this sign of believing it is that the realm of dreams, spirit and connection to others manifest closely.   The planet Mars has now dipped beyond our sight in the glare of the Sun.  The Red Planet will be joined by Mercury and soon the Sun in the “Underworld.”  The Underworld, in this case, comes about when a planet or moon becomes, in essence, invisible from our eyes due to the sunlight.  In Shamanic Astrology, the Underworld symbolizes the integration of our shadow side within our whole being.   The shadows of Pisces will showcased through Mars, Venus, Mercury, the Sun, Neptune and Chiron for a period of time in February and March.  The Moon fades into shadow as well for about 2 days in March.

Mars in Pisces: Feb 1st – Mar 11th (in Underworld Mid-Feb to Mid-June)

Mercury in Pisces: Feb 5th – April 13th (in Underworld from late Feb to mid-March)

Sun in Pisces: Feb 18th – Mar 19th

Venus in Pisces: Feb 25th – Mar 21st (in Underworld from Mid-Feb to early May)

Moon in Pisces: March 10th-early March 12th (Primarily in Underworld during this time)

Neptune & Chiron: Continuance in Pisces (in Underworld from mid-Feb to early March; in Pisces throughout 2013 and beyond)

As shown above, all of those planets (Moon & Sun included) will be in the same sign on the 10th & 11th of March, shedding a mystical light on the sign of Pisces.  The Pisces archetype is a believer, a merger, an empath, a selfless giver and the one who is transpersonal. The Pisces energy is about lifting one’s self up beyond the attachments of middle world to the celestial and/or the divine spirituality.  This is wonderful time to volunteer, give to charity or otherwise help/heal others in need.

Symbol for Pisces

Ultimately, the nature of Pisces is “learning that the most pleasurable and enjoyable and wonderful thing that can do is simply make available to the world what they do best.” (Shamanic Astrology Handbook pg 87).  What they do best is giving and healing others (and providing a space space to do so) without ego and an attachment to the outcome.

With the shadow of Pisces being highlighted toward the end of this month and into March,  the trappings of the middle world, such as finances, jobs and media/entertainment tend to be low on the priority list.  By nature, Pisces would rather not trouble itself with the middle world as it is drawn much more into the mystical, dream or celestial realm.  This pull away from reality can show up more during this shadow period.

We may also feel lost in believing too much, thereby creating an illusion of something that isn’t real is as solid as the ground in which we walk.  This could be anything from a relationship with a partner or to believing we are meant for a specific job when it was never meant for us.  More likely is that each of those situations are there to teach us the truer part of ourselves through feeling with our hearts and not always with our minds.  But confusion is natural in navigating the Pisces waters.

Those people who have a Pisces archetype will definitely feel more of a pull than most toward the dream state and/or more vivid dreams.  This is an area in which to pay close attention to see if current life issues are on display through your dreams and to work with them with your heart and spirit.

This time period will provide opportunities to grow through creative reasoning, using intuition to assist in overcoming any feelings of being stagnant/stuck.  Meditation is typically a beneficial practice to have, but during this Piscean multi-planet conjunction, it can be of tremendous help to clear out the mind of clutter, letting go of attachment to any outcomes and relax in the knowledge that the “Universe is as it should be.”  Granted, it is easier written than actually practiced, but it can work to help see ongoing challenges in a different light after meditation and relaxation.  It can also lead to having more spiritual awareness of self and that sometimes being lost gives us more time to simply Be.
