While we have made it to the solar month of Libra, Autumn is settling in the northern hemisphere of the planet. For the last few years,
it is also when Uranus goes into opposition with the Sun and when it has the greatest chance of becoming visible with the naked eye. This year, this happens on October 3rd at 6:52am Pacific time. Right now, it is just beyond our ability to see it, but in some years it is close enough to Earth to pick up the faint light of the archetypally wild, unpredictable and novel planet. At this time, it is in the sign of Aries but in the constellation of the Fish, a naturally dark part of the sky. Uranus is rising as the Sun is setting and vice versa.
In Shamanic Astrology, Uranus’ nature is interpreted as a strategy for disconnecting with the traditional structure, comfort, security and plans. The Uranus initiatory process involves rolling with change instead of resisting that change. It is antithesis for being “in a rut”, but it’s strategy also asks us to have trust in the process and the places we are taken. Uranus typically produces changes beyond our control in order to align us with our soul’s intent (or original intent). Uranus can take us backward, forward or sideways, but always to help us realize our emerging gifts, talents and path in life. The Uranus process is typically as abrupt as lightning and as novel as a pink zebra. This process also helps us see the cosmic overview or bigger picture with a revolutionary intent.
The planetary alignment on the morning of October 3rd is one of the ancient symbol of Merkaba or Star of David (as it is more commonly known today). More closely, there is the Water Trine of Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter all in water signs and very closely aligned “T-Square” between the Sun in Libra, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. It is not exact in degrees with Pluto, but close enough to most certainly to create a building a tension. Releasing the energy for necessary revolutionary and intense change but with a softer Libra touch is the general intent of this T-Square. This is another step in the radical shifts we are seeing on the globe and part of the overall Autumnal initiation of 2013 and the Turning of the Ages.
