Dec 9th, 2013: The Moon is in its “First Quarter” phase today and if you have relatively clear skies, you will be able to see it toward the south, but high
above the horizon for most people in the US. The First Quarter Moon is in the latter degrees of the sign of Pisces and is slowly entering the constellation of the Fish (aka Pisces in astronomical terms). This represents halfway to Sun/Moon opposition or the Full Moon phase. In Shamanic Astrology, this stage is about committing to a cause worthy of one’s time and energy. With the Moon in Pisces and the Sun in Sagittarius, the cause is about serving spirit, exploring the frontiers or truth while having empathy and connection to the Source.
The First Quarter phase is also a time to take action, using one’s instincts and feeling of things rather than with the mind. This is about trusting in the process and stepping forth without lengthy contemplation or planning and acting with heart, truth, empathy and enthusiasm.
