Embracing Your Community and Life’s Passiosns!
As we all walk into Autumn here on the planet’s Northern Hemisphere, we are entering the time of understanding, how we relate to one another and community. Libra is archetype of “conscious, equal partnership”, but it does encompass more than the core Libran theme of pair-bonding. It is also the desires to bring people together and working with them in harmony and helping each other solve issues and celebrate the joys. In the seasonal spin of the Earth, it is nearing the end of the harvest where communities must work together to care for the food and share it beyond family to friends, neighbors and travelers.
It is a time to tune into the needs of other but also to express your needs too. It is a time to weigh the issues, but not to judge them and instead listen to what they have to say. It is time to speak your mind and feelings and see that everyone has a voice. This first stage of Autumn is gathers in not only a harvest of food but a harvest of ways, and ideas. In councils, town halls, community centers and granges, people can speak freely and express ways to improve what we have. The new ideas spring forth to bring us into a place where our global community sits ready to to be in “conscious, equal relationship” with itself without politics or other biases.
In my own life, I am experiencing greater connections with the communities here in Oregon in an open an evolved way. As I stretch that connection along the West Coast down through California and Arizona it feels like a coming together of friends and colleagues with each moving into or already experiencing the roles and contributing to a much larger purpose overall for the globe. It is one of the primary things that keeps me going, alive and well and with enthusiasm. I am grateful for the evolving connections as they continue to change, expand and move in unexpected directions.
As Autumn deepens, the Sun moves into the sign/archetype of Scorpio (very late on Oct 22nd Pacific time). At this stage of the season, many plants and animals become much less active with millions upon millions of trees losing their leaves to enrich and empower the Earth with nourishment from decay. As the communities have shared their ideas, it is now time to deepen the process and drive inward to face the inner shadows and release our life force in order to follow our passions. It means a richer connection done beyond the surface and into the mysteries of our core being. It is a time to discover not only what those mysteries are but how to use them in healthy and powerful way.
With the Scorpio zodiac month, it is also a time to purge the toxins from ourselves, but doing that can bring our shadows and fears to the surface. In order to bring power to ourselves, we must release those toxins. We must see the fear and shadow within our core and see it through all the way. Through that, our connection to our life force energy strengthens and we become empowered to test life’s edge and over it. For when we go for it, we can see parts of ourselves that we would never see had we not driven ourselves beyond that inner edge.
Here is Oregon, life does go within as the cold rains pick up their pace. But as we are nudged indoors, we can access the veil between worlds more readily, helped by the gaining night hours and mid-Autumn celebration of Samhain or Hallow’s Eve or Dia de los Muertos or whatever name we choose to honor this time both with friends and family and internally. We can choose to appreciate the treasures and gifts of our life by witnessing the transformation taking place both within and without. We can honor the spirits and Great Mystery through personal ceremony, which is also a way into own spirit and soul.
Past the deepening and the edge walks the zodiac month of Sagittarius, which takes the knowledge learned to explore new frontiers, make new connections and bring hope to communities. This is the time of the traveler, seeker of truth, adventurer and trailblazer.
